Whiskey Tears and Memphis Nights

  • Underneath the fading lights, where the shadows softly play,
I pour my heart in whiskey tears, as the blues begin to sway.
Broken strings and memories, dance in the smoky room,
Each note a silent cry, echoes of love and doom.

The dusty dreams come creeping back, on this weathered wooden stage,
I strum along with Southern pain, scribbling my sorrow on the page.
Every word a testament to the life that I can't reclaim,
But in this heart of darkness, I find solace in the pain.

The jukebox plays a lonesome tune, that haunts my restless nights,
Each melody a ghostly waltz, draped in solemn lights.
The bottle whispers secrets, that only I can hear,
In the realm of broken promises, the truth is crystal clear.

From the corner of my weary heart, I sense a distant call,
A memory bathed in sepia, that guides me through it all.
With every sip, I taste the strife, woven in the strum,
And though the whiskey numbs the ache, it can’t bring back what's gone.

Still I stand upon this stage, with echoes in my mind,
The rhythm of my sorrow keeps me tethered to the grind.
And though the night is heavy, with a weight that won't let go,
I'll play my song for Memphis, till the dawn begins to glow.

So here’s to whiskey tears, and all those Memphis nights,
To broken dreams and strings, that hold on through the fights.
I'll carry on my journey, with this heart of mine so brave,
Finding hope in every note, a flicker in the cave.

The sun will rise to paint the sky, washing darkness from my soul,
As I embrace the morning light, I’ll finally feel whole.
