In the shadows where the secrets lie,
Cold whiskey whispers, while the night slips by.
Winding sorrow like the smoke in the air,
Fading heartbeat echoes, no one seems to care.
Soft refrain of memories lingers near,
Each sip pulls the curtain, unveils my fear.
Bleeding daylight through the window pane,
Every drop of sunshine just fuels the pain.
Lost in the rhythm of the blues and the ache,
Silent calls in the twilight, too much to take.
Watching the shadows dance, beneath the moon's glow,
Drifting stories unravel, too heavy to stow.
Time wears a hat made of tattered dreams,
Each laugh feels hollow, or so it seems.
But I’ll keep on searching in this smoky bar,
For a tune to heal the wounds and guide me afar.
So here’s to the dusk where the heart feels free,
To the lines we draw 'tween you and me.
In the silence, I'll find my own way to mend,
In the fading daylight, where the night can pretend.
And if tomorrow brings a glimmer or gleam,
I’ll raise my glass high and chase down that dream.
For all of our drifting stories, I won’t trade for none,
Each note that we play, tells us we’re far from done.
