Out where the stars meet the midnight creek,
Underneath the sky where the coyotes speak,
I ride on my velvet saddle, a lonesome tune,
With memories swirling like a dusty monsoon.
The sun sets low behind the broken horizon,
Whispering secrets, as the day is risin’,
With every echo of a love long gone,
I chase the shadows, singing my echoed song.
The wind’s a phantom that dances with me,
Stirring up the stories that used to be,
In the quiet warmth of the evening glow,
I find solace here, in the twilight’s flow.
A photograph pinned on an old barn door,
Reminds me of days I can’t ignore,
We laughed in the fields where wildflowers bloomed,
But time took its toll, left my heart marooned.
Now I roam these trails, a vagabond's dream,
Searching for peace in the moonlit stream,
With the velvet saddle holding memories tight,
I ride through the stars that light up the night.
As the firewood crackles and the smoke curls high,
I’ll sing my stories to the endless sky,
Though the road is rugged and the journey feels long,
I’ll find my way back with each echoed song.
So here’s to the plains, the nights without end,
To the love I once had, that the winds wouldn’t send,
With each strum of my heart, I’ll keep rolling on,
In the rhythm of life, I’ll forever belong.
