Silent Cry

  • In the midnight hour, I hear a silent cry,
Echoes through the shadows, where the lost souls lie.
With a shadowed heart, I walk a frosted trail,
Mem'ries in the moonlight, like a ghostly wail.

Cold wind whispers secrets, to the dusty road,
Life’s a heavy burden, a lonesome, heavy load.
Each step I take feels like an electric moan,
Searching for salvation, but I'm so far from home.

The blues wrap around me, like a well-worn shoe,
In the darkness, I’m searching, trying to find you.
Your laughter's just a flicker, fades in the night,
But the shadows keep calling, hold me close in fright.

A train moves in the distance, its whistle cuts the air,
I grip my broken bottle, drown my heart in despair.
But there’s a spark still glowing, in this weary fight,
The frost may bite my fingers, but I’ll find a way tonight.

Underneath the starlight, I’ll sing my weary tune,
With a dust and wind chorus, beneath the weeping moon.
Though the road’s long and winding, and the past won’t go,
I’ll keep on moving forward, that’s all I really know.

So, here’s to faded shadows and the paths we've crossed,
To the laughter and the heartache, to the love and the lost.
With each silent cry that rises, I’ll find my place to stand,
As I walk this dusty road, I reach out for your hand.
