Lonesome Pine

lyrics album : Lonesome Pine

Lonesome Pine

  • Underneath the lonesome pine,
    With shadows stretching long,
The whispers of the evening breeze,
    Are weaving me a song.
I’ve been wandering these dusty roads,
With no place left to roam,
    Every mile, a memory,
    And every turn’s a stone.

With a heart that’s heavy as the night,
    And stars that barely shine,
I’ve searched for solace in the darkness,
But I still can’t find the line.
The treetops sway in gentle tunes,
    While crickets play their part,
As I chase the fading twilight,
And the longing in my heart.

Oh, the mountains call my name,
    Like an old familiar friend,
But the skies are filled with burden,
And the road just never ends.
So I’ll pour my soul into this song,
As I wander 'neath the moon,
Hoping that the path I tread,
Will lead me home real soon.

With every breath of sweetened air,
I feel the pull of time,
A million dreams are tangled up,
    In every step I climb.
When the morning light breaks through,
    And the shadows lean away,
I’ll find a peace among these trees,
As I greet the coming day.

    But tonight I'll find comfort,
In the quiet of the night,
With the lonesome pine beside me,
I’ll hold on ‘til it's light.
As the breeze carries my wishes,
    To places far and wide,
I’ll stay close to that lonesome pine,
For it’s where my heart resides.

And when my wandering days are done,
And I finally find my way,
I’ll return to those gentle heights,
Where the pine trees softly sway.
Though the road may lead me far,
In my soul, it feels like home,
    Underneath that lonesome pine,
I’ll always find my way back home.
