Underneath a blanket of starlit skies,
A cowboy rides where the wild wind sighs.
With a heart so heavy and a mind so free,
On this lonesome prairie, it's just the moon and me.
The saddle creaks softly as the shadows play,
Every whispered secret in the night fades away.
But the memories linger like the scent of pine,
When I think of the love that I left behind.
Oh, the night flowers bloom with a sweet perfume,
While I chase the echoes of my empty room.
The coyotes howl, calling out my name,
In this vast, open country, nothing feels the same.
The river's gentle murmur sings a haunting tune,
As I ride through the heart of the midnight moon.
With every twist and turn, I search for some light,
Hoping to find her in the stars tonight.
The prairie stretches, like the miles I've roamed,
Each footprint a story of a heart far from home.
But as dawn breaks softly, painting skies anew,
I’ll carry her spirit in all that I do.
So as I saddle up and take one last glance,
I’ll hold onto memories and give love a chance.
Though the road may be lonesome and the journey long,
With the stars as my compass, I’ll find where I belong.
In the glow of the morning, as the darkness fades,
I'll cherish the moments in this life I've made.
Though the night was lonely, the dawn brings delight,
There's a promise of hope in these lonesome prairie nights.
