Moan of the River

lyrics album : Moan of the River

Moan of the River

  • In the still of the night, I hear the river moan,
Whispers of a shadow, where the restless hearts have flown.
Got a pain in my chest, like a stone that won’t roll,
Aching for the love, that’s buried in my soul.

Every star above, looks down with a sigh,
Reflecting on a dream that keeps on passing by.
The water flows so deep, but it don’t ease my mind,
Just a restless echo of the love I left behind.

Moonlight on the surface, like silver on the pain,
I’m searching for a solace, but it’s lost in the rain.
Every drop that falls, carries memories away,
Of laughter and a promise that the night won’t betray.

I walk along the bank, feel the chill of the breeze,
The shadows creep around me, like the whispers of the leaves.
Got a restless heart, can’t find where to roam,
Searching for that river, that’ll take me back home.

With every aching heartbeat, I can hear that old song,
Calling through the darkness, saying I still belong.
But the river keeps on flowing, never stops to wait,
Carrying my sorrow, as I stand here at fate.

So I moan with the river, let its currents take me down,
Drowning in the shadows, where the lost souls gather ‘round.
But one day I’ll be free, to rise above the strife,
And find a peace in living, let the river give me life.
