Delta Blues Train

  • In the heart of the night, I see that Delta train,
Rolling through my sorrow, whispering my name.
At the crossroads of my dreams, where shadows play,
Chasing down redemption, can I find my way?

Oh, those tracks they wind, like the stories in my mind,
Lost in memories, of the love I left behind.
The whistle calls to me, like a siren’s sweet refrain,
Each note a reminder of my lingering pain.

The rain is falling down, washing memories away,
But deep inside my heart, they're still here to stay.
With every drop that falls, I feel the weight of time,
Searching for salvation, will I ever find?

I’ve danced with ghosts of laughter, held hands with the blue,
In this weary soul of mine, there’s a hunger for truth.
But every step I take, leads me back to you,
So I’ll ride that Delta train, and see this journey through.

So let the whistle blow, echo through the sky,
With every mile I travel, I learn how to fly.
Redemption waits ahead, at the end of this old line,
Where sorrow meets the dawn, and the past, it’ll unwind.

Now the sun is rising, painting skies with gold,
I’ve left behind my burdens, they’ve lost their hold.
On this Delta Blues train, my heart finally free,
I’ll find my way back home, to the love that waits for me.
