When the shadows start to fall, and the night begins to call,
I find my solace in a bottle, where I can lose it all.
Each sip's a freight train rolling, through the corridors of my mind,
Carrying all my heartache, leaving every thought behind.
Dusk settles on the pavement, where the lonely spirits roam,
I’m haunted by your laughter, in the silence of my home.
Every echo whispers promises, turned to dust and shattered dreams,
Longing for your touch, drowned in the whiskey’s bitter streams.
The jukebox croons a melody, that cuts me like a knife,
With every note, I’m reminded of the love that filled my life.
I reach for shadows fading, where the memories entwine,
But in this haze of longing, it’s your spirit I can’t find.
Oh, the night is dark and heavy, like a storm that's brewing near,
I drown my fears in amber sadness, while the world just disappears.
The freight train keeps on rolling, through the wreckage of my soul,
With each drop of whiskey swirling, I'm a lover still unwhole.
So I'll wait here at the station, with my heart upon the tracks,
For the dawn to break the silence, and the warmth to bring you back.
But for now, I’ll chase the twilight, where the night wind softly blows,
Holding onto fleeting moments, till the morning light bestows.
With a sigh, I lift my glass, to the memories we've stole,
In this bittersweet cocoon, I embrace the dawn's soft toll.
Though the world may keep on moving, and the shadows may console,
I can find a piece of freedom, in the whiskey on my soul.
