Old Porch Blues

  • Sittin' on this old porch, with creakin' boards beneath my feet,
The wind whispers low, following a lonesome tune, bittersweet.
Clouds roll in thick, a storm's on the way,
I feel that distant thunder, like a heartbeat that won't stay.

Heavy sigh escapes my lips, as shadows start to grow,
With every drop that falls, I drown in what I know.
Empty glasses chillin’, just like my heart's refrain,
Each note a reminder of the love that left me pain.

Night creeps in closer, painting dreams in shades of gray,
Memories on repeat, in the rhythm of yesterday.
That creaking porch still echoes, like ghosts from long ago,
The laughter and the sorrow, in the soft and heavy blow.

Distant thunder rumbles, singin' softly to the rain,
Every heartbeat tells a story, woven deep in joy and pain.
But here I find my solace, in shadows and in light,
With every note that lingers, chasing away the night.

So let the storm come crashin', let it drown the world outside,
I'll hold onto my lonesome tune, let it be my faithful guide.
For in these quiet moments, I find a peace so true,
As I sit here on this old porch, singing my Old Porch Blues.
